Our story

A project born during the Vendée Globe race 2008

Yannick Bestaven makes the start of this race, with the ex «Aquitaine innovations» from Yves Parlier. He wishes to reduce its weight to increase its performance.  The idea is to substitute the 300 liters of fuel embarked to produce electrical energy on board, by a reliable and light hydro generator, respectful of the environment.

The stirring up adventure !

2009 : Yannick Bestaven and Matthieu Michou begin the adventure together. The limited liability company Watt&Sea is created in August 2009.

2010 : the hydro generators are presented on several international Boat Shows: Grand Pavois in La Rochelle (France), METS in Amsterdam (The Netherlands) and Nautic in Paris (France). They meet a great success.

December 2010 :  Watt&Sea is 2010 award winner of the Bateau Bleu price, organized by French Marine Industry Federation.

2011: many media present this major innovation. Heading on the sales development in France and internationally !
